===== How to read the diagrams =====
Open any diagram to view the full-size image. Columns run left to right. The earliest event is at the top, and time increases downward. Purple short bars are taps; teal extended bars are holds ending at their bottom edge. This is a timeline layout, not a gameplay screenshot. Read the descriptions alongside the images; the text also explains them without images.

The 4K diagrams keep the comparison compact. The [[wiki:stream_patterns|Stream article]] also shows a 7K example. Column numbers are not prescribed keyboard bindings, and the times shown are illustrative.

A chord is a group of notes with the same start time. Closely spaced chord events create chordjack-like structure. Some pairs in this diagram repeat, and later pairs move to other columns.

===== Why labels can overlap =====
The analyzer summarizes a whole chart, not just the passage drawn here. Jacks may also form dense single-note event runs; a chord-heavy chart can have technical timing variation or long notes. One visible label is not an exclusive description of everything in the map.

The current source snapshot uses the descriptive ''mania_patterns_v1'' analyzer. Its scores are selection evidence, not official skill ratings or PP estimates. [[wiki:style_fallback|Style exhaustion fallback]] can also produce a map outside the strongest requested matches.

===== Farm and Variety are different kinds of choices =====
[[wiki:mania_farm|Farm]] is an experimental efficiency-evidence preference rather than a visible pattern shape. [[commands:variety|Variety]] includes all eligible structural styles and unclassified charts, with vetted converts where enabled. Neither needs its own misleading note-pattern diagram.

===== Worked example =====
If you recognize repeated chord events and want more of them, use ''.style chordjack'' as an active player. Check ''.queue'' before judging the next map: previously selected maps stay in place. A different fresh style may reflect exhausted strict choices rather than a rejected preference.
