====== Full selection catalogs and research databases ====== Community hosts download the **complete prepared selection catalogs**, not a small example pool and not the owner's multi-gigabyte research workspace. The prepared catalogs retain the metadata and analyzed evidence required by their supported map-selection modes. They do not contain every intermediate research record or player-score snapshot. ===== Why the download is smaller ===== The central research databases contain many records per player/map, collected score evidence, analysis inputs and working data. Prepared catalogs contain the resulting map-level selection data. Archive compression and removal of research-only material make megabyte-sized downloads plausible even when the source research databases occupy gigabytes. A row count is not a disk-size promise. Standard selection includes normal and verified DT data plus Stream/Jump/Farm evidence. Mania catalogs carry key-mode, structural/composition features and applicable Farm/overrepresentation companion data. Normal difficulty, style, age, pass-count and duration filters still decide what is currently eligible; the full database row count is not the active pool size. ===== Verified earlier full import ===== The independent dev6 report verified this dated catalog set; later exports can differ: ^ Mode ^ Primary rows ^ Companion rows ^ | Standard | 105,510 beatmaps | 105,137 DT; 105,510 stream features; 40,846 Farm report | | Mania 4K | 19,335 maps | 19,335 Mania features; 18,953 overrepresentation; 16,327 Farm | | Mania 7K | 4,348 maps | 4,348 Mania features; 3,036 overrepresentation; 1,778 Farm | Earlier reports showing only **400 Standard / 200 per Mania mode** capped their displayed inspection counts. Those numbers did not establish truncated downloads. The later full counts came from the same content IDs and catalog set, without increased disk use. The active filtered map pool may independently have a configured cap. ===== Download and trust ===== Catalogs are served from the owner's HTTPS origin with pinned trust, signed metadata, expiry and content hashes. Operators verify before import/activation and can reuse the validated cache; a repeat check may transfer no catalog payload. The download is a prepared database export, not a collection of audio/background files or every individual .osu chart. Website art and duration use a separate public display index. Collection and analysis remain central. Research updates are not silently live for every room: a new export and its Standard/DT/companion pairing must be validated before promotion. An unavailable hub does not invalidate the last verified local catalog; a refused/unverified update is not silently accepted.
