Styles describe chart structure in the 4K and 7K rooms. Use .style to inspect the current chart; select a style using .style jack or its direct command.
| Choice | Direct command | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Variety | .variety | All eligible styles, including unclassified charts |
| Jack | .jack | Repeated notes in the same column |
| Chordjack | .chordjack | Repeated chord patterns |
| Stream | .stream | Stream-focused structure |
| LN | .ln | Long-note-focused structure |
| Technical | .technical | Technical structure under the classifier |
| Farm | .farm | Experimental efficiency evidence, when enabled |
Labels are heuristic and may overlap. They are not promises of PP efficiency or exclusive human genre labels. A style selection requires an active player or moderator and changes future picks; visible queue entries stay unchanged.
Expanded spellings
The live v6.6.17 update supports common aliases such as .tech, .jacks, .longnotes, and .style long notes. The canonical forms above remain supported. Unsupported categories such as stamina remain unsupported.
See style fallback, converts, and style troubleshooting.
Practical walkthrough
See choosing Mania styles for worked examples and the canonical argument/direct command pairs.
Worked example
Use .style ln or .ln to prefer long-note charts. .style inspects the current chart; .variety returns to all eligible styles.
Limitations
Labels are heuristic, queued maps stay unchanged, and fallback can broaden selections. Expanded v6.6.17 spellings are supported; see the release alias table.
