English-first personal language guidance
English stays the common language of public lobbies. Players can opt into supported bilingual guidance without changing anyone else's experience.

Use .lang zh / ko / es / ru for Mandarin/Simplified Chinese, Korean, Spanish or Russian. .lang en or .lang off restores English-only and stops automatic offers. Choices follow your account across compatible rooms.
What is translated
Supported ordinary focused help, .time, short welcomes and recognized style confirmations can append a prepared translation to the original English in the same message. English remains first and unchanged. If a translation is missing or both texts cannot fit, only English is sent.
Shared countdowns, vote prompts/results, map notices, PP announcements, staff replies and general messages stay English. Map metadata, arbitrary errors and the expanded .help2 list remain English. This is not automatic translation of players' conversations and does not change the lobby's language by majority vote or country mix.
Quiet offers, never automatic switching
Consistent clear recent chat may produce one opt-in offer. Detection is deliberately conservative: two qualifying sentences in the same supported language within 120 seconds are needed; bare scripts, short greetings, URLs, commands, quotations and ambiguous mixed text do not establish a language. It is a heuristic, not guaranteed identification.
Offers wait for idle time and a quiet gap and are globally spaced at least five minutes across the four rooms. They do not delay gameplay or repeat every round. Country from an existing profile response may suggest a choice inside requested general .help if it fits; it is not proof of language, never switches preferences, and does not add a country-only welcome. An explicit choice, including English, suppresses later automatic offers.
Privacy and fallback
The saved preference contains the selected language and whether an offer was already claimed, not your country or raw chat. Detection and country hints stay in memory. Unavailable or corrupt preference storage falls back to English rather than falsely confirming a save. No external translation service or additional language-detection API is used.
Wiki language versus bot language
The site dropdown offers English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Spanish and Russian starter guides. English is the default and remains directly accessible. Many detailed references and release notes remain English, with labeled fallbacks; this is not full-site translation. Switching the wiki does not execute .lang or change the bot.
