Skip, Replay and Difficulty changes are room decisions. Spectators, referees and players who leave do not keep a quorum alive. The bot recalculates the threshold and retains only eligible voters when player presence changes.
Skip and replay thresholds
| Eligible players | Required distinct voters |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1 |
| 2–4 | 2 |
| 5–6 | 3 |
| 7 or more | 4 |
Skip and replay use an eight-second vote window. Repeating a command does not turn one player into multiple voters. Votes can expire before enough players agree, and expired votes do not carry into a later window. Replay targets the immediately preceding completed map and protects active matches. Difficulty votes have their own rules; see Difficulty changes.
Understanding an expired skip vote
From v6.7.4, the expiry message includes the final distinct-voter tally and current required threshold:
Skip vote expired—3/4 votes; map kept.
For example, a room with seven eligible players needs four different voters. Three players repeatedly sending .skip still contribute only three votes; the attempt expires. A later attempt opens a fresh window, not a continuation of the old one.
The updated message is shown once on expiry. Older rooms awaiting v6.7.4 or cumulative v6.7.5 can still show the earlier message without a tally. No voting threshold or timing changes in v6.7.4 or v6.7.5. See Release notes, v6.7.5 and check the current room title during deployment.
Limitations
Vote-skipping cannot interrupt a match already playing. Staff can disable player votes. Map changes or soft-restart cancellations are not labelled as failed skip votes. See Why a vote did not act.
